My mom and I are from Black Mountain, NC and stopped in for dinner last night before a concert at Truliant Amphitheater. The staff was very friendly, especially our server! It was pouring rain and he was kind enough to let us stay after our meal until the rain let up. The food was delicious, we had the Tuna on Tuna, Hunky Dori, and Queen Charlotte (server recommended) special rolls. All very yummy. The Queen Charlotte roll was new to us, kiwi and strawberry on sushi was surprisingly an amazing fresh new combo. We also had to try their Thai tea! It was so good. And if you like espresso, the Thai tea espresso was especially delicious. The atmosphere was excellent too. It was quiet with relaxing music playing. Very open floor plan if you have wheelchairs/disabled people in your family. I will be bringing my wheelchair bound brothers with CP back because there is ample space to wheel them to a booth. We loved our experience here! Excellent food, kind and friendly staff, and relaxing atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back again. Thank you so much to the staff at Tora Izakaya. 🩷

A New Sushi Obsession: 5 Stars for a Flawless First Visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It’s rare that a first-time visit completely knocks it out of the park, but this place is doing something special. If you are a sushi lover, stop reading this and just go. The Starters We kicked things off with the Tora Poke Tuna appetizer, and honestly, I could have ordered three more and called it a night. The fish was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and had that melt-in-your-mouth quality that sets great sushi apart from the "just okay" spots. The Roll Breakdown The sushi rolls here are creative, generous with the portions, and—most importantly—high quality. • Tuna on Tuna Roll: For the purists who can’t get enough, this is a masterpiece. Double the tuna, double the flavor. It really showcased the freshness of their catch. • Queen Charlotte Roll: I’ll be honest, I was on the fence about the strawberry salsa. Fruit on sushi can be a gamble, but trust me: it is a must-try. The sweetness of the salsa cuts through the richness of the fish perfectly. It’s a total flavor bomb. • Carolina Roll: I really liked this one, though it’s definitely the "indulgent" choice. It’s fried and features cream cheese, which I loved

Nice open concept to dine in. Several options from bar to booth. Food is fresh and delicious. The noodles were fantastic as well the sushi was on point. We will be going back

Excellent food and service at Tora Izakaya! The chicken fried rice was perfectly cooked and full of excellent flavor. Server was attentive and helpful. Good value!

We had an outstanding dining experience! The crab rangoon was hands-down the best we’ve ever had—fresh, crispy, and paired perfectly with the sauce. The quality of ingredients stood out in everything we ordered. We've tried the sushi, hibachi bowls, and a noodle bowl, and each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. The only thing we’d adjust on our next visit is to ask for lighter sauce, just to better enjoy the fresh flavors. Highly recommend this spot!
